Aniston was born in Sherman Oaks, California, on the 11th of February 1969. Her father and godfather were both actors in Hollywood but she discovered her own love for acting at the age of eleven after attending Rudolf Steiner School of drama. Although acting became her main focus after graduating from high school (High School for the Performing Arts in New York), she was a talented painter and one of her pieces got displayed at the metropolitan museum of art in New York.
After high school, Aniston took several roles in in off- Broadway Productions including “Dancing on Checker’s” grave. Before starring in the sitcom friends, Anniston starred in the series, “Molloy” in the 1990s although it was short lived. Aniston reportedly gave up acting following a number of unsuccessful roles and cancelled shows. In the following years during the 1990s, her television resume continued growing where she took a number of roles in television shows including: “The Edge”, “Quantum Leap”, “Muddling Through” and “Herman’s Head”.
Her role in the 1994 sitcom, Friends, made her career. Although the producers originally wanted her to take the role of Monica Gellar, she insisted that the role of Rachel Green would suit her better and it did. She turned down to be part of Saturday Night Live to do Friends which laster from 1994 to 2004.
`Friends’ inspired an obsessive following and saw her receiving a salary of about 1 million dollars per episode during the two last seasons of the sitcom. This placed her in the Guinness World Book of Records as one of the highest paid female actors receiving such an amount per episode.
Jennifer starred in many romantic comedies such as the 1996, She’s The One, 1997, Picture Perfect and Till There Was You among others. After getting married to Brad Pitt in the year 2000, the two held there place among the power couples of Hollywood elite. The two were co- owners of their production company, Plan B with Brad Grey (producer). However, she and Pitt divorced and she left Plan B, claiming it was growing too fast for her liking.
Her successful career as an actress did not slow down, Aniston took the lead part in the movie, Good Girl, in 2002,which won her nominations and awards. She then went on to star along side Jim Carey in the romantic comedy, Bruce Almighty, which would come to be that years’ most watched romantic comedy and grossing an estimated $484, 592, 874. At one point, she was simultaneously filming in Friends, Bruce Almighty, and Along came Polly, proving her to be a dedicated actress.
She is also the first woman ever to have been honored on the cover GQ’s Men of The Year’ issue series. She then went on to film an independent movie, Friends with Money, and in 2006 released it together with the big hit The Break Up.
Apart from acting, her fragrance `Jenifer Aniston’ which debuted in 2010 in London was celebrated in the U.S in 20011 and the proceeds went to one of her favorite charities (St Jude Children’s Research Hospital)
